gw2 link to gw - Guild Wars Forums

I believe that you can link GW2 to your account. That's how your GW2 characters are going to inherit the accomplishments of your GW1 characters through the Hall of Monuments.

I think what wise means is that one should be able to bring items/chars over to GW2 from GW. there is only one problem with this line of thinking, GW2 will have a completely different engine and wont be able to handle GW's stuff without trouble.

you must have been in the dark. Since GW2 was announced they explained the Hall of Monuments in Eye of the North. You will be able to get something in GW2 if you fill up the monument and farm titles. What you will get is anyones guess.
